RC-135U Combat Sent History
Used by the United States Air Force as a reconnaissance aircraft, the RC-135 support theater and national level intelligence consumers with near real-time on-scene collection, analysis and dissemination capabilities. Various types of RC-135s have been in service since 1961. It was based on the C-135 Stratolifter airframe.
Aside from reconnaissance, the RC-135U Combat Sent also participated in every armed conflict involving the US assets. Since the early 1990s, this aircraft has remained a continuous sight in the Southwest Asian skies.
