C-32A History:

Manufactured by Boeing, the C-32 was called the VIP transport and got introduced in June 1998. Its mission was to carry the U.S. President and Vice President, cabinet members, secretaries, and other dignitaries stateside and around the world.

The C-32A is a military version of Boeing’s 757-200 made to replace the VC-137B/C aircraft. The C-32A is more fuel efficient and has improved capabilities over its C-137 predecessor. It can travel twice the distance on the same amount of fuel, and operate on shorter runways down to 5,000 feet (1,524 meters) in length. Its 92,000-pound (41,731 kilogram) fuel capacity allows the aircraft to travel 5,500 nautical miles unrefueled.

The C32A is a medium-sized twin-engine to long range jetliner with advanced technology for fuel efficiency, low noise levels, increase passenger comfort and top operating performance. The C32A has a length of 155 ft, 3 inches; wingspan of 124 ft, 8 inches; height of 44 ft, 6 inches; and a maximum takeoff weight of 255,000 lbs. It has a maximum speed of 530mph with the range of 5,500 nautical miles unrefueled and service ceiling of 42,000 ft. The C-32A can accommodate 45 passengers and 16 flight crew of which five can be seated in the stateroom, eight in the conference room, while the remaining 32 in the general seating area.
